Fiber Arts Friday
Welcome to Fiber Arts Fridays! Thanks to last week’s contributors and this week’s Featured Fiber Artist, Liz from Hobbledehoy, I have been dreaming (in vivid color) of Fiber all week. Look at these gorgeous colors – “barn dove” is a quirky trio of hand-carded fiber batts inspired by the pair of doves that live in Liz’s barn and wake them up each morning with their warbly chatter. These batts contain hand-dyed merino wool, ecospun (a recycled fiber made from plastic bottles), and glitz.
Liz hand-dyes and hand-cards batts of fiber, and spins her own yarn. Her work is so beautiful, so scrumptious, so juicy and delicious… that it makes me want to remove the balls from the ball pit at Chucky Cheese’s, fill it with Hobbledehoy batts, jump in, and never leave. Sample her fiber art masterpieces and you might just jump in with me!
To see more of her work, you can visit Liz’s shop or her blog. Additionally, you can read interviews with her on Etsy, and on the Blonde Chicken Boutique’s blog.

Very pretty! Some day I hope to get into spinning. Isn’t it every fiber fans dream to have a farm and take fiber from animal to needles?

And now it’s my dream to take my sweet critters and do something with all that fleece. For me it started with the critter, but now it’s coming full circle.
