Fiber Arts Friday – Hand Spun Yarn

Yesterday I voted for my favorite hand spun yarn in this Etsy Contest. Wow! It was a hard choice. And Inspiring. In the process, I visited lots of Etsy shops and added several to my list of favorites. If you haven’t voted already, please do! While you’re on Etsy, visit the Alpaca Farmgirl Shop, which I’m always forgetting to mention.
The only thing about handspun yarn that gets to me is that I can rarely think of something to make with only one skein. I would love some ideas for projects that I can make with one or two skeins of chunkier yarns. Please share some of those with us in the comments section. That will make my day!
What have you Fiberistas been up to this week?

These are beautiful colors! I’m off to vote now (and check out your shop). On my page, I’m making progress on the baby quilt and can see the end in sight!

My blog post for Fiber Arts Friday is about a different use for handspun I’m sort of experimenting with.
For knitting or crocheting – Handspun could make an interesting trim on sleeve cuffs or a hat brim. Cowls are also a great way to use small amounts of yarn.

I loved so many of those yarns – hard to choose only one. But I did
Makes me want to get out my wheel again.

Katy,
It seems a lot of people aren’t sure what to make with handspun yarn, so I try to regularly compile free patterns that suit it. You can see all those posts here: http://www.blondechickenboutique.com/index.php/category/patterns/
