Jim and I have been married for seven months today. I love this quote because it describes our relationship so well. We started out as friends and our love has grown from there.
Before Jim almost died from an injury sustained when he was in Iraq, I never understood how people could go from being friends to feeling romantically about them. I thought that if a spark was going to be there it should be there from the beginning.
Boy was I wrong! Because we were friends first I know our relationship has a firm foundation of respect and fondness for one another. And the spark? God knows how that occurred, but it certainly did. We still feel like teenagers in love when we’re together.

Hi Katy and Jim,
Marriage is a working relationship. Kirk and I have known each other for 26 yrs and we will celebrate 13 yrs of marriage this June. We met on a blind date, construction died in Gulf Breeze, Fl and he went back to Colorado, and through that and other relationships, we stayed in touch. God new what He was doing the whole time.
We are best of friends and that’s what makes our marriage so special.

You bet friendship plays a role in a happy and successful marriage. HHBL is my best friend. He can make me laugh at just about anything. There isn’t anyone that I would rather spend time with. Not bad for 27 (almost)years of marriage.
