Each cria season I have some favorites. Occasionally I fall hard for one. Like George here, who was born on President’s Day. He makes me weak in the knees.

When alpaca cria (babies) are born on cold, grey days we usually use a blow-dryer to get them warm, toasty, and dry: ready for the world. Most of their moms are startled at first, but they usually decide it’s okay for me to blow-dry their cria.

Welcome Tiana!

We recently welcomed this little cria (baby alpaca) to our herd. Dam, Isolde, is a good momma to this precious Magnum daughter. The last picture above is one of my favorites.
