On December 7th, we held a Holiday Open House at the farm. It’s always nice to meet new people and share the joy of alpacas. There were knitters and fiber artists shopping for themselves, as well as those on a mission to find the perfect holiday gift. The scarves, pictured above, and knitting kits to make them, are available for sale in our Etsy shop. A great time was had by all. We look forward to the next one. [Read more...]

Homeade Holiday Goodness – Alpaca Scarf

Hand-knitted Alpaca Scarf

Hand-knitted Alpaca Scarf

I am so excited to unveil this project that we have been working on for weeks! My dear friend and knitting guru, Maxine Brach, and I have been working on an alpaca scarf that looks like an alpaca and is also made from alpaca yarn. This scarf is made of over 90% alpaca, the remaining portion is wool & nylon. It’s even softer and warmer than it looks! It is available for sale at $68. The scarf comes in brown, grey, and white (pictures coming soon). If you like to knit we also have kits available for $46. Our Alpaca Farmgirl store should be up within the next few days, but if you’d like to order one in the meantime, contact Katy at alpacas@bellsouth.net
