Aunt Mog’s Raspberry Salad

This is a delicious and easy salad to make. The scarlet color makes it perfect for Valentine’s Day, 4th of July, or Christmas. I use a Tupperware jello mold which looks nice and is easy to remove. If you don’t have a mold, you can just put the jello into a glass baking dish.

My kids love it, and I bet your family will too. I let them eat it for breakfast  if we have leftovers.

  • 1 large box of raspberry jello
  • 1 jar of babyfood applesauce – Stage 3
  • 1pkg. thawed frozen raspberries
  • 1 small carton sour cream
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Mix 1 large pkg. raspberry jello and 1 and 1/2 cups boiling water. Let it get to room temperature. Mix in 1 jar of babyfood applesauce and package of thawed frozen raspberries (juice and all). Pour into jello mold or glass pan. If you do a single recipe a square pan should work, but if you double it go with an 13X9. Refrigerate until set.

For Topping (if desired):

Mix 1 carton sour cream and 1 cup mini marshmallows. You can either spread on top if jello is flat or put in middle of jello ring mold. To unmold ring, set at room temperature for 15 minutes, then if necessary hold in warm water for 20 seconds then try again.

My Great Aunt Mog’s real name is Margaret. There were nine children in her family, and they always called her “Mog”. She is super sweet. Hope you enjoy her recipe. (I always double it.) Let me know what you think!

*All of our alpaca teddies are made from “guilt-free” fur. This means that no animal was ever harmed to make these products. The pelts come from animals who have died of natural causes. When impoverished South American alpaca farmers lose an alpaca, they sell the pelt so as they don’t experience a total loss. Each penny they earn is needed for them to sustain their farms. We would never harm alpacas to share in their fur.

If you have an alpaca teddy bear or alpaca “fur” product, please leave a comment and tell us what you think.
